I don’t know what possessed me. In a flash of inspiration, there was a series of techniques I wanted to play with.

The criteria included first, it needed to be clean with bold and graphic colors and gradients. I wanted it to have sections with slanted breaks, but the center (light gray area) would be hidden and would be revealed by expanding it, accordion style. The center would show data driven illustrations of animated bar charts and features.

I’ve always been drawn to isometric illustrations so I wanted to make an illustration that looked like it had been broken out into layers (bottom graphic). Each of the numbers, when clicked, would expand or reveal different components.

Simple but dynamic, I’m really pleased with the results. I utilized a collection of complimentary stock graphics and composited and used them across different sections. I hope that a use case presents itself where I can fully realize this concept’s potential.
